"FINANCING AND PLANNING OF NUTRITION PROGRAMS” Grand Bassam Cote d’Ivoire, September 20 to 24, 2010

The West African Health Organization (WAHO) coordinates to the twelfth Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS) Nutrition Forum scheduled to take place in Grand Bassam, Cote d’Ivoire from 20th - 24th September 2010. The technical theme for this year’s meeting is “Financing and Planning of Nutrition Programs “

Sub-themes for the forum include:

• Funding and planning programs in a context of resources scarcity

• The necessity for an intersectoral approach especially with agriculture

• The place of nutrition programs in National Health Accounts

• The integration of nutrition in PRSPs among others program pursing the same objectives

• Experience at national level for sustainable funding of nutrition programs in ECOWAS countries

• The development of action plan for increased and sustainable funds for nutrition programs

The forum will gather nutrition focal points and resources persons in charge of nutrition, UNICEF, WHO and others partners, and food security in ECOWAS members states Nutrition Focal Points will present on: .
